The Writer's Den Mystery

This is my Final Project as part of my BA Games Art and Design course. I was inspired by games such as Tell Me Why and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. The story of the scene is of a writer who after going on a conservation trip, came across a strange sculpture and has begun to develop psychokinetic powers with disastrous consequences. Artstation Project

This was a really rewarding project to work on, I especially enjoyed getting to build the personality of Ellis the writer, and designing queer stickers to plaster the desk with. I wanted to make a queer character visible through the environment but with a complexity and tragedy that complicates the setting of what would once have been a fun and carefree space.
there are two renders, the first two in UE4, and the rest in Marmoset. The full scene tricount is 39,477.
